Students who have already received other government tuition waivers, subsidies, or financial aid of a similar nature are not eligible for this reduction. However, exceptions apply if otherwise regulated by law (e.g., the Ministry of Agriculture's academic financial aid for children of farmers and fishermen) or if the student receives grants from the Financial Aid Program for Disadvantaged Students in Higher Education Institutions.

Low-Income and Mid-Low-Income Students

Eligibility: Students enrolled in senior high schools or higher institutions who hold a valid low-income or mid-low-income household certificate issued by local governments.

Waiver Standard: Low-income students: Full waiver of tuition and fees; Mid-low-income students: 60% reduction of tuition and fees.

Required Documents: (1) Application Form, (2) Original copy of the Household Certificate.

Legal Basis: Regulations Governing Tuition and Fee Waivers for Low-Income and Mid-Low-Income Students Enrolled in Senior High Schools or Higher.

Eligibility: Students whose total gross household income for the most recent fiscal year does not exceed NT$2.2 million. Waivers for children of persons with disabilities exclude students enrolled in master's in-service programs.

Waiver Standard: Severe or Profound Disability: Full waiver; Moderate Disability: 70% reduction; Mild Disability: 40% reduction.

Required Documents: (1) Application Form, (2) Original copy of the Disability Certificate/Handbook, (3) Household Registration Transcript or Household Certificate.

Legal Basis: Regulations Governing Tuition and Fee Waivers for Students with Disabilities and Children of Persons with Disabilities.

Indigenous Students

Eligibility: Indigenous students with formal enrollment status in domestic public or accredited private junior colleges or higher institutions.

Waiver Standard: Fixed-amount waivers ranging from approximately NT$11,000 to NT$44,000, varying by academic department and discipline.

Required Documents: (1) Application Form, (2) Household Registration Transcript (including detailed notes) or Household Certificate.

Legal Basis: Regulations Governing Tuition and Fee Waivers for Indigenous Students Enrolled in Junior Colleges or Higher.

Children or Grandchildren of Families in Hardship

Eligibility: Children or grandchildren with formal enrollment status who meet the criteria of the Act for Assistance to Families in Hardship.

Waiver Standard: 60% reduction based on the actual tuition, fees, or credit-hour fees charged by the university.

Required Documents: (1) Application Form, (2) Original copy of the Certificate for Families in Hardship, (3) Household Registration Transcript or Household Certificate.

Legal Basis: Regulations Governing Tuition and Fee Waivers for Children and Grandchildren of Families in Hardship Enrolled in Senior High Schools or Higher.

Bereaved Children of Military, Public Service, and Teaching Personnel

Eligibility: Bereaved children of military, public service, and teaching personnel who hold a valid compensation order or certificate.

Waiver Standard: Full waiver, half waiver, or fixed-amount reduction based on the statutory compensation category and period.

Required Documents: (1) Application Form, (2) Compensation Order, Compensation Certificate, or Official Approval Letter of Compensation.

Legal Basis: Statutes Governing Tuition and Fee Privileges for Bereaved Children of Military, Public Service, and Teaching Personnel.

Children of Active-Duty Military Personnel

Eligibility: Legitimate biological or legally adopted children of active-duty military personnel enrolled in secondary schools or higher institutions.

Waiver Standard: 30% reduction based on the actual tuition fees charged by the university.

Required Documents: (1) Application Form, (2) Official proof of parent's active-duty service, (3) Household Registration Transcript or Household Certificate.
