MISSION中心目的

The mission of the center is to provide a range of education-related services for Indigenous students so that they can receive assistance and support in daily life, academics, and employment. The center also creates opportunities for Indigenous students to engage in meaningful exchange with peers from different ethnic groups and regions within the center, broadening their vision and fostering independent learning, optimism, and confidence, civic participation, community service, and a shared sense of well-being. By cultivating a multicultural and inclusive campus environment, the center aims to deepen faculty and students' appreciation of the richness of Indigenous cultures.

FEATURES 中心特色

The university integrates the Academic Affairs Office's E-portfolio system with the Secretary Office's Mackay Co-Learning Garden extracurricular activity certification program to establish a personalized information system for Indigenous students. In coordination with the faculty advisor system and the Student Affairs Office's counseling resources (such as the Student Life Guidance Division and the Psychological Counseling Center), this system helps advisors and counselors understand students' academic progress and life adjustment, enabling the timely provision of guidance and support.

The Center also requests that each department ensure Indigenous students who intend to take a leave of absence first consult with a dedicated counselor at the Center to identify the reasons behind their decision. Relevant faculty and staff will then be invited to propose solutions based on those reasons to reduce student leave-of-absence rates. Additionally, departments and the Academic Affairs Office will be asked to provide learning data, academic performance alerts, and other relevant information to enable proactive outreach and counseling. A lateral coordination mechanism will be established among the Academic Affairs Office, the Student Affairs Office, the Campus Ministry Office, and all academic units, with regular working group meetings convened to assist and enhance support for Indigenous students in the following areas:

  1. Academic Affairs Office: Academic performance alerts and academic counseling.
  2. Student Affairs Office: Maintaining basic records for Indigenous students and providing life guidance services.
  3. Campus Ministry Office: Offering fellowship activities and faith development for students with Christian beliefs.
  4. Academic Units: Providing career and life counseling for Indigenous students through the faculty advisor system.
